Why Sales?

I have known for a while now that I want to pursue sales. The first thing I can think of is competition. Growing up playing sports my entire life has inspired a hard work ethic and determination level that I can closely relate to the sales field. If you pair that with my outgoing and extroverted personality you find a recipe for success.

I took a class at UCF called Integrated Marketing and Sales, where I was first introduced to the skills needed to prosper as a salesman. After numerous role-play exercises, I learned to treat each sale as an opportunity to better myself through trial and error. I truly enjoy meeting new people and networking myself as a business. Through this class I found my passion in sales, the best part, I learned that it was a prerequisite to a whole new program dedicated to similar classes and experiences.

Professional Selling Program

The Professional Selling Program (PSP) at the University of Central Florida was created for the exact situation I found myself in. After realizing my passion and potential in sales, I decided it was best for my career to apply for the program. Through the PSP, students like myself are taught how to handle themselves at the professional level. We are trained through rigorous sales training role-plays, corporate partnerships, networking, and even professional dining skills. With no more than 35 students selected out of UCF’s enormous student population, this program includes classes such as Professional Selling, Sales Force Management, Advanced Professional Selling and Strategic Issues in Sales. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to enhance not only my skills as a professional salesperson, but also my classmates.
